The Challenge: While Detroit has vibrant music, art, and design communities, it’s still largely perceived as an automotive city. Many young creatives, especially Gen Z, overlook it in favor of New York or Los Angeles.

Our brief was to shift this perception, spotlight Detroit’s creative opportunities, and invite talent to build their careers here. The Solution: We built a brand identity that avoided the overused “grit and comeback” narrative, instead celebrating Detroit’s ever-evolving creative spirit. The visual direction was bold, modern, and unapologetically loud. Using a mix of vibrant color, dynamic typography, and playful design elements that reflected the diversity of the city’s creative scene.
